The SOA holds several Candidate Connect events throughout the year in addition to their annual meeting. These events allow actuarial students/candidates pursuing their ASA designation, to learn more about the profession, network with actuaries, and attend sessions focused on industry specific topics.
Life & Annuity Symposium: this is one of the SOA’s largest professional development meetings and includes an opening session, breakout sessions, luncheon and a reception for Candidate Connect participants.
Pre-ASA candidates can expect to:
- Learn important industry topics and how to apply knowledge to practice
- Network and build connections with SOA leaders, members and fellow candidates
Pre-ASA students/candidates taking SOA exams in order to gain their ASA designation should feel free to attend. A basic working knowledge of actuarial practice is preferred.
This full-day program is filled with networking opportunities, informative workshops and sessions.
Pre-ASA candidates will:
